Biography

Carlos Alberto Reyes García: holds a Ph.D. in computer science with a specialty in Artificial Intelligence from Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida. He holds a master’s degree in computer science and a master’s degree in engineering management from the Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne, Florida. He holds an BSc. in Industrial Production Engineering from Instituto Tecnológico de Aguascalientes. He holds a postdoctoral fellowship as a visiting professor and researcher at the Istituto Internazionale per gli Alti Studi Scientifici (IIASS-E.R. Caianiello) in Vietri sul Mare, Italy. He works at the National Institute of Optical and Electronic Astrophysics since January 2001 where he is currently researcher C. He is National Researcher Level II of the National System of Researchers (SNI). He was Chairman of the Board of the Mexican Society of Artificial Intelligence (SMIA), the founding editor and editor-in-chief of the Artificial Intelligence magazine Komputer Sapiens. His research areas are: Computational Intelligence, Processing and Classification of Biosignal, Computer Speech Recognition, Baby Crying Recognition, and General Classification of Patterns. He has been Director of 10 Bachelor Thesis, 21 Master’s and 7 PhD Theses and has published more than 160 articles in scientific journals national and international congresses, 18 chapters of books and edited 16 books.
